RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL STRIP-OUTS
A CLEAN START FOR YOUR RENOVATION OR FIT-OUT
Cessnock Demolition provides controlled strip-outs for homes, shops, offices, hospitality venues and other properties across Cessnock and the Hunter Valley. We remove nominated internal finishes, fixtures and non-structural elements so builders and trades can begin the next stage with a safe, accessible work area.
A professional strip-out can save considerable time on a renovation. It also reduces the risk of accidental damage, unsafe material disturbance and incomplete removal that holds up following trades. Our team brings over 15 years of demolition and strip-out experience to projects of varying sizes.

RESIDENTIAL STRIP-OUTS
Residential strip-outs are commonly completed before kitchen, bathroom, laundry or whole-home renovations. Depending on the agreed scope, we can remove cabinetry, benchtops, appliances, sanitary fixtures, tiles, floor coverings, wall and ceiling linings, non-structural partitions and other unwanted materials.
We first clarify what must remain. Items such as windows, plumbing points, electrical components, structural walls, reusable fittings and nearby finished rooms may need protection. Clear marking and communication are particularly important when only part of a room is being stripped.

COMMERCIAL STRIP-OUTS
Commercial properties often need to be cleared for a new fit-out, lease handback or change of use. We undertake strip-outs for offices, retail premises, hospitality spaces and other small-scale commercial interiors. Work may include partitions, ceilings, floor finishes, counters, shelving, fixtures and redundant fit-out materials.
Commercial projects can involve building management requirements, shared access, neighbouring tenancies, loading restrictions and limited work hours. We discuss these constraints before starting and plan labour, equipment and waste movements accordingly. If a make-good specification or fit-out plan exists, provide it during quoting so the scope can align with the required handover.

STRIP-OUTS IN OLDER BUILDINGS
Older homes and commercial premises may contain asbestos behind tiles, in wall or ceiling sheeting, under flooring, around wet areas or within other products. These materials may be hidden until finishes are removed, which is why demolition experience and cautious planning matter.
If suspected asbestos will be disturbed by the strip-out, we can include appropriate testing and licensed removal within the demolition scope. Work does not simply continue through an unknown material. The risk is assessed, the correct process is followed and affected waste is handled through suitable disposal pathways.

HOW WE PLAN A STRIP-OUT
We define the work area and removal list, review available plans or specifications, identify items to retain, consider structural and service risks, assess access and waste removal, and establish dust and site controls. Services may need to be isolated by the relevant trade before removal begins.
During the strip-out, materials are removed in a controlled order rather than damaged indiscriminately. This helps protect retained surfaces and gives the team better visibility of concealed conditions. The area is then cleared of included waste and left to the agreed standard for builders or following trades.
WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR QUOTE REQUEST
For an accurate strip-out quote, provide the property address, room or tenancy size, photos, a list of what must be removed and what must remain, access and parking information, any building management rules, known asbestos reports and the preferred completion date. If demolition drawings or a make-good schedule are available, include those as well.
We service Cessnock, Kurri Kurri, Pokolbin, Branxton, Wollombi, Lovedale, Maitland and surrounding areas. Call to discuss your strip-out, or request a free quote online. Booking the strip-out before other trades are scheduled gives everyone a clearer programme and reduces avoidable downtime.
