COMPLETE VERSUS PARTIAL DEMOLITION
Complete demolition generally removes the full building and may also include slabs, footings and nominated external elements. Before quoting, it is important to establish exactly what stays. Retaining a driveway, mature tree, boundary fence, services or part of a slab can change the work method and equipment access.
Partial demolition is more controlled. The team must work to a defined boundary while protecting retained parts of the property. It may require temporary support, careful separation of materials and coordination with engineering or building plans. We confirm what is structural, what services need isolation and what finish the next trade expects.

ASBESTOS WITHIN DEMOLITION PROJECTS
Many older buildings in the Hunter Valley may contain asbestos in eaves, roofing, wall linings, wet areas, vinyl flooring systems, cladding, sheds and other products. It cannot be reliably identified by appearance alone. Disturbing it without appropriate controls can expose workers, occupants and neighbours to airborne fibres.
Where suspected material falls within the demolition area, we can incorporate sampling through appropriately accredited analysis, licensed removal, compliant transport and disposal into the project. This service is offered as part of demolition planning rather than as a separate asbestos-only service through Cessnock Demolition. Integrating the work helps establish a safe sequence and reduces the chance of demolition being interrupted by an unexpected discovery.
APPROVALS, NOTIFICATIONS AND TIMING
The approvals required depend on the structure and proposed work. Some demolition may be eligible for a complying pathway, while other work can require council approval or supporting documentation. Neighbour notification, utility disconnection and other pre-start requirements may also apply.
